I've been hooked on Jacqueline Druga's books for a few months now, and started with The Silent Victor. While I love dystopian tales I admit that my focus is more on HOW they survive vs. what actually happened to bring the world to an end. Ms. Druga tells the story of this group of people, really a family, and she gives us the truth for each one of the characters. The reactions and behaviors of these people propel the story to "must find out what happens next" status. I couldn't put them down. I've read all of them, up to The Ripple. I gave this series 5 stars because I love the characters, BUT I will say by the Ripple I was getting disappointed by two key things. Ellen's back and forth relationships, and the trying to "fix events" from the past. I've come to see Ellen as sort of a slut, and I don't understand why Frank and Dean continue to want her at all. I think she betrayed both of them over and over again. Needless to say she is not one of my favorite. And the time travel is just too weird. It went from an end of the world story to a sci-fi tale. I'll see what the next book brings because I'm invested in their outcome. I just hope we don't continue to stray to far from reality, and that Frank and Dean meet real women who they can love and trust forever.Product details

Great series and another great book!
Same problems overall. English, grammar, spelling, sentence construction, word choice. Good story line.
This series is the best I have ever read. It stays as exciting as the first book. I love love love this series.
In a week! Love this authors writing. The story line is great and the sense of humor is present. Hope to be able to forget I read them so I can enjoy them again!
Excellent concept, however ruined by the drama-queen goings on of the characters. I found few of them likeable or admirable. I do not expect perfect characters, but I do want the protagonists to be someone I would respect.
I give this book 5 stars without hesitation. The characters are well developed and believable. I couldn't help but become emotionally invested. I laughed when they laughed and cried when they cried... and I love the dynamics between Ellen, Dean, and Frank. If you like drama, suspense, comedy, science fiction, or romance... this is a must read! Can't wait to read the next one.
Wow, just completely blown away by the most recent story of Beginnings. I am still sitting here thinking...wow, did that just happen. When a book makes me feel like that or I get so completely invested in its characters and can't put it down, to me that's an awesome story and kudos for Jacqueline for having the ability to weave such an incredible tale! I wasn't disappointed at all and I am already starting the next book in the series. I'm totally addicted and love it! I love a lot of the characters interactions and conversations between them. Especially with the "originals!"
