Bright illustrations and repetitive text are sure to make this story a hit with very young children. Kieran wants to be a scary pirate, so members of his family give him various items to turn him into a pirate. Very cute, I'll pass this book onto my Great-Nephew, I'm sure he'll love it.
Kieran The Pirate. By Cleo DeLancey. Available at www.. This is a story about a young boys quest to dress up as a scary pirate. Jacob giggled everytime I said Arrrr. The pictures are so bright and this is such a great story even for young babies!! Jacob gives this book two slobbery baby thumbs up!!
I ordered this book directly from the author as a gift for my daughter. It was a cute story with excellent illustrations. My daughter went crazy when she saw the cat on page 9 LOL. Kieran wants to be a pirate, so his family members give him various items to make the perfect costume. I liked the repetitive use of phrasing (similar to Dr. Suess); that helps kids learn to read better. I especially liked that it contained words meaningful to children, such as "Grandma" and "Auntie." I just hope Kieran does his pirate impression around a kid his own size next time ).
